Elementary Teacher

The Prairie Hill School District is seeking elementary teacher candidates for the 2019-2020 school year. Candidates must possess a valid Illinois teaching certificate. Job duties include:

1. Actively support the mission of the school and district, "Students First, Always."

2. Create and maintain a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.

3. Provide opportunities for all students to experience success, based upon their individual ability and potential.

4. Assess and monitor student progress through standards-referenced instruction and grading.

5. Actively participate as a member of their respective team.

6. Facilitate Response to Intervention Tier 2 and 3 instruction.

7. Participate in school improvement initiatives.

8. Inform parents and students of academic and behavioral progress, concerns, and long-range expectations.

9. Analyze student academic math data to improve individual student as well as school-wide performance.

Middle School Math Teacher

The Prairie Hill School District is seeking candidates to teach mathematics beginning in the 2019-2020 school year. Candidates must possess a valid Illinois teaching certificate with a math endorsement. Job duties include:

2. Create and maintain a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.

3. Provide opportunities for all students to experience success, based upon their individual ability and potential.

4. Plan and implement lessons in accordance with the Illinois Standards for math.

5. Assess and monitor student progress through standards-referenced instruction and grading.

6. Actively participate as a member of the Math content area team.

7. Facilitate Response to Intervention Tier 2 and 3 instruction.

8. Participate in school improvement initiatives.

9. Inform parents and students of academic and behavioral progress, concerns, and long-range expectations.

10. Analyze student academic math data to improve individual student as well as school-wide performance.

Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Specialist

The Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Specialist will provide leadership and vision in ongoing planning, implementation, development and direction. The specialist will assist in reviewing the district’s curriculum, instructional methods and student assessments. This position will encompass a variety of subject areas and grade levels, in a Kindergarten through 8th grade district. Position objectives include:

  • Further implementation of standards based grading
  • Providing knowledge of research based curriculum and practices
  • Implementation of district initiatives
  • Coordination of relevant professional development

This position will require the specialist to meet with district administration, staff and teachers on a daily basis. Collaboration and communication among these entities is a must. Specialist will provide support and leadership in on-going professional learning, focused on a continuous improvement process. This improvement process includes observations of teachers and conversations guided towards the betterment of the instructional process. Specialist will support a comprehensive and sustained approach to improving teacher effectiveness in raising student achievement as well as the utilization and implementation of formative and summative assessments. Specialist will also assist in analyzing data from the assessments, discovering trends and using the information to lead staff through a continuous school improvement process.

Qualifications include a valid Professional Educator’s License (PEL) and 5 years minimum classroom experience. Experience in curriculum, comprehensive instruction and Master’s Degree preferred. Knowledge of standards based grading and professional learning communities is a must.

Anticipated Opening for 2019-2020

School Psychologist/Social Worker Position:

Prairie Hill School District is seeking a full-time school psychologist/social worker for the 2019/2020 school year. Position will be at two buildings in a K-8 district. Responsibilities include:

  • Observations, screenings, and data review for evaluations and re-evaluations for individual students.
  • Evaluation process for special education students to determine progress, educational impact, eligibility and related needs.
  • Produce written reports of screening and evaluation results and present to team members and parents through meetings, using the Embrace IEP system.
  • Participate in building/district special education team meetings and processes.
  • Work to collaborate and communicate with educational teams.
  • Involvement in crisis prevention and intervention.
  • Provide counseling services to students in individual and group settings.
  • Completion of paperwork in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Support implementation of district policies and procedures, regulations and administrative directives.

Qualified applicants must possess a registered Illinois Professional Educator License with School Psychologist endorsement. Pay will be based on experience and education on the certified salary schedule.
