Fractals are complicated figures that repeat at even smaller scales to produce irregular shapes and surfaces that can't be represented by classical geometry. Basically fractals are objects that are made up of very very small copies of themselves. Fractals are used in computers such as screen savers and they are used in nature. There are many different types of uses for fractals such as a Julia set or a Mandelbrot.
Newton
was not one of the men to discover fractals but other scientists
built off of
his idea. At first
he did not know he discoverd
fractals. He was born on the forth of January 1643 as he grew he
studied at the University of Cambridge. Benoit Mandelbrot was also
one of the people who discovered fractals. He gave these shapes the
name of “fractals.” It means broken or fractured. Being a
French-Jewish American mathematician he was best know as the “Father
of Fractals.” Gaston Julia was born on February 3, 1818-March 19
1978. He was one of the last men to discover fractals. He got the
idea from Benoit Mandelbrot.
You can find fractals anywhere such as a leave and it's repeating patter or a cloud's shape, usually it's not a perfect shape. Nature is not made up of circles and squares but more complicated figures know as fractals.
