HW: complete reading assignment #4 and fill out wkst re: the book so far

Thursday

Complete Character Sketch in groups and complete role assignment for book talk tomorrow

Friday

Book Talk meeting #4 - Sharing Air Time Activity

After completing book talk in literature circles, write 5 quiz questions as a group.

6th Grade Writing

Monday

Review Shurley sentences, read Zlata's Diary in pairs

HW: 2 paragraphs - 1. how is your community like Zlata's? 2. What is it different?

Tuesday

HO Direct Object sentences - complete individually and then compare to a partner's

Discuss the quote "it takes a village to raise a child".  In groups, students will make posters that identify all the parts of the community that contribute to their ability to live, grow and learn

Shurley Unit 2 test on Direct Objects (test is tentatively scheduled pending student understanding of concepts)

Discuss the importance of "place".  Introduce enthography (the study of a place) writing piece
