TIMED TEST ARE PRACTICED ON MONDAY AND TAKEN FOR A GRADE ON FRIDAY. PLEASE HELP YOU CHILD STUDY FOR THIS VERY IMPORTANT SKILL. THESE SHOULD HAVE BEEN MASTERED BEFORE 5TH GRADE.

Our new textbook series is from Harcourt called the Trophies edition. Spelling is now part of the reading grade, because each story selection has spelling and vocabulary together. You will note that your child has both a Reading Practice Workbook and Spelling Workbook. (Please note that the spelling list is written in the agenda for the week it is tested, and grades can be found in the Reading Spiral.

SOCIAL STUDIES FOR THE 4TH QUARTER
GRADES:
1/3 DAILY 1/3 TESTS 1/3 STATE REPORT
We are now finishing our State Report. We will be bragging about them to the 4th grade class.
A big Thank You needs to go out to Mrs. Titterton (4th grade team teacher) for her excellent job of teaching 4th grade Social Studies. Our students have an excellent knowledge of mapping skills and Social Studies vocabulary.
We are currently developing the reasoning for the 5th grade study of the United States. The 8 Strands of Social Studies are very important concepts to all of the Social Sciences. We have set up our interactive journal for this school year, and it is and will be a wonderful tool for our students.
A SPECIAL THANKS TO MRS. RINI, MRS. GLIEBE, AND MRS. SHERIFF FOR PUTTING OUR LOGS TOGETHER. THEY LOOK FANTASTIC.
