A safe environment in which all children can develop their creative thoughts through the experimentation of different media and subject matter, as well as develop an appreciation of other people's visual expression and cultural arts.
Preview of Visual Arts Events - 2011-2012

Step right up and enjoy another exciting and enriching year of instruction in the visual arts!
Your “ring masters’’: Mrs. Williams, in her twenty-first year in the Prairie Hill School District, will be instructing three elementary classes as well as the junior high art classes. Mrs. Swanson, in her third year, will be instructing two elementary grade levels.
We are promising thrills and adventures in art under the “Big Roof Tops” of Prairie Hill and Willowbrook Schools. This year we will be performing magical acts of illusion: mixing colors to create new colors, turning earth into ceramic stone, balancing mediums to create sculptures, uncovering the mysteries of past cultures, and finding inspiration in the works of artists past and present!
For your viewing pleasure, your young artists’ works are on display at website www.artsonia.com . These exceptional examples of artwork represent the art curriculum as well as offer products for purchase. All the proceeds from these sales will directly benefit your child’s art program.
Our returning attraction at the art circus gift shop is the of the “Square 1” fundraiser - information soon to follow. We would like to thank all the parents that supported the fundraiser in the past. Last year’s profits supported our “Artist in Residence” guest speakers, field trips to the Rockford Art Museum, specialty art supplies, and a new computer for the P.H.S. art room.
Until we meet all of you at the parent/teacher events throughout the school year, we hope that you and your family will enjoy the thrills and lessons that overflow from our art rooms!
