School Closings
In the event of a school closing, Mr. Rehl will place a call using our School Messenger System to each family’s main contact number. This call is usually made before 6:00 a.m. on the day of a closure. If you don’t get a call, please let us know.
District #133 provides closure information to WIFR and WREX TV stations.
You can sign up to get a text message from WIFR if we close.

Posting pictures and video on Facebook or Youtube
Please remember that while you may have some great footage of your child from a school event that you can’t wait to share with family and friends on Facebook, you need to be very careful. Please remember that other children may be in the pictures too, and their parents may prefer their images kept private. Many social networking sites have privacy settings – please consider their use.

Board Member Recognition
District #133 would like to recognize Mr. Jeff Aronson for 14 years of service to the students and families of Prairie Hill. Mr. Aronson has been Board Secretary, representative to the annual conference on behalf of the district, and been a calm, thoughtful, and consistent voice leading the Board through many transitions. He will be missed, but we are keeping his number on speed-dial, just in case.
Mrs. TJ Larsen is recognized for 8 years of hard work on behalf of the district, most recently for her 4 years as Board President, a job that requires many extra hours of meetings, conferences, and calls. Mrs. Larsen was a calm and determined leader, always working to keep the best interests of the community in the forefront of the Board’s decision-making process. She leaves the Board in great shape and we hope she will continue to assist the district in other ways.
If you see either of these folks around, take a minute to say thank you – they surely deserve it

No Cell Phone Use Allowed While Driving in a School Zone!
Please note that Illinois State Law has been changed, and that any use of a cell phone in a school zone is now illegal. We certainly need to promote the safest possible environment for our children, so please, if your car is running, your phone can’t be!
